He hates the treatment of Sansa by Joffrey, for sure. And The Hound can see a parallel with his own upbringing with Gregor Clegane, ‘The Mountain That Moves’. He was bullied as a child and he can see this bullying again so there’s a frustration there. He protects her by trying to give her, not just physical protection in the thick of it, but it’s more - advice. She’s, as far The Hound is concerned, still in this fairyland where everything’s nice and flowers and songs and it’s the frustration of trying to get through this - “You’re in a bad place, you need to watch what you say, what you do, just to survive.”
